This prospective multicenter study evaluates the diagnostic accuracy of sentinel lymph node biopsy-guided lymph node dissection compared to extended pelvic lymph node dissection in patients with intermediate- or high-risk prostate cancer.
Conducted across three tertiary centers in France, the study involved 162 patients and demonstrated that sentinel lymph node biopsy is highly effective and sensitive for pelvic lymph node staging.
The findings showed high sensitivity (95.4%) and specificity (100%) in detecting lymph node metastasis, supporting its use as a reliable method for staging in this patient group.
